Opening remarks from Chair of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Freshia Mugo, set the tone for the morning, emphasising the Board's commitment to stewardship and accountability.

Representatives from Strathmore University also took the podium, reinforcing the collaborative spirit that has long underpinned the Fund's governance.

Guest speaker, former board chair and a retiree, Mr. Daniel Killur offered an external perspective on the evolving landscape of provident fund management, contextualising SETSPF's ambitions within broader industry trends. His remarks underscored the timeliness of the new strategy, particurly its focus on diversi;ed revenue streams as a path to greater resilience.

Jeremiah Kagwe from revenu stream walked attendees through the strategy's core pillars, unpacking the strategic plan and explaining how targeted investments and operational improvements will translate into tangible improvements in member outcomes. A representative from Zamara, the Fund's administrator, complemented this with practical notes on implementation timelines and member-facing enhancements expected in the near term.

A highlight of the morning was the awarding of past trustees —a moment of appreciation for the individuals whose dedication and governance laid the groundwork on which this strategy now builds. The ceremony reflected the Fund's deep respect for institutional continuity and the contributions of all who have served its membership.

The Strategic Plan: Key Themes.

The launch event highlighted several cross-cutting themes woven through the 2025–2030 plan, with the full strategic document now available to all members through offcial Fund channels: Financial Sustainability — Diversifying the Fund's investmentand revenue base to reduce concentration risk and improve long-term returns. Member Prosperity — Placing member benefit improvements at the centre of every strategic decision, with clear metrics and accountability structures. Operational Excellence — Streamlining processes and deepening the partnership with service providers to ensure efficient and responsive fund administration. Governance & Transparency — Strengthening trustee frameworks and member communication so that every stakeholder remains informed and engaged.
